The following is a list of State and National Industry Associations. These organizations are dedicated to the advancement of the water management industry through the exchange of information and sharing of industry practices. The Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority is an active member of many of these groups and works to promote their efforts as they benefit not only the larger State and National interests but our own local systems and resources as well. The Georgia Association of Water Professionals provides education and professional development as well as promotes sound public policy regarding water resources and related environmental fields. They work to be the go‐to source for reliable information on Georgia’s water resources for water professionals, decision makers, the media, and the public. The AWWA is the largest nonprofit, scientific and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water. The AWWA and it’s members works to provide solutions to improve public health, protect the environment, strengthen the economy and enhance our quality of life. The Georgia Rural Water Association is a non-profit organization representing rural systems throughout the State of Georgia in regard to drinking water and wastewater needs. Active Members consist of public and non-public water and wastewater systems. www.grwa.org
