The 2 water treatment filters at the Lake Rabun Water Treatment Plant were in much need of upgrading and reconditioning in order to maximize their water treatment capacity. One filter at a time was taken off-line to be reconditioned. While work was being done on one, the other continued to operate, maintaining the plant’s ability to provide treated water during the process. Additional water to supply the needs of Clayton and the South area of the county was brought from the North plant, the Little Tennessee Water Treatment Plant, as needed. The newly reconditioned filters are now up and running and operating at maximum capacity and efficiency.
