Louie Lee is the man for our wastewater systems. A 1982 graduate of Rabun County High School, Louie went on to trade school, where he specialized in machine tool and die work and welding. After school, he worked at Burlington and later Fruit of the Loom, staying close to home in Rabun County and near his family. Before joining the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) three and a half years ago, he spent 13 years as the Operations and Maintenance Manager for the former Multitrade, which was located across the road from our north wastewater treatment facility. Although his commute barely changed, Louie is glad he made the move. He appreciates RCWSA’s family-oriented culture, enjoys the variety of challenges each day brings, and takes pride in helping protect the health and safety of the Rabun County community and the environment he calls home.

Since coming on board with the RCWSA, Louie has been training under Wastewater Systems Manager Davis Speed, whose long tenured experience as a wastewater manager goes back to 1993. Louie now holds a Class 1 Wastewater Operators license, after progressing through both the Class 3 and 2 certifications. And if that isn’t enough, he also has his Class 2 and 3 Maintenance certifications. In other words, he can pretty much do it all. As Davis’s retirement approaches, Louie is slated to become the RCWSA’s next Wastewater Systems Manager. While we are sad at the prospect of losing Davis, we are confident that Louie has been extremely well trained and is the right man for the job.

Outside of his RCWSA family, Louie shares life with his wife, Rhonda, of 37 years; their two grown children, who both live in Rabun County; and five grandchildren, ages 2 to 15. The Lee family enjoys hunting, fishing, and relaxing by the pool, but most of all, they love spending time together. The RCWSA is proud to have Louie on board as he helps provide the best possible service to the Rabun County community.
