Meet Rusty!
Rusty Hunnicutt is the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority’s Equipment and Fleet Manager. In other words… he keeps everything moving at the RCWSA! Rusty is a native of Rabun County and graduated from Rabun County High School in 2011, after which he attended North Georgia Technical College. He and his wife Shanda reside in Tiger and enjoy agriculture and spending time with family and their Bernedoodle dogs, Roofus and Ruby. Shanda, who teaches 2nd grade at Rabun County Primary School, was recently named the 2026 “Teacher of the Year” for the Rabun County School System. Way to go Shanda! Rusty also spent time on the dirt track racing circuit and has previous experience in both mechanical and utility fields. He currently holds a Class 3 Water Operator License as well as Distribution, Collection and Maintenance Certfifications. As the RCWSA Equipment and Fleet Manager, Rusty services, builds and maintains the vital machinery, vehicles and equipment that the rest of the RCWSA crews depend on to do their jobs. He saves us time and money by taking care of things in-house, providing faster and more cost-efficient solutions to our equipment needs. We are so lucky to have such a valuable and talented (not to mention, an all-around great guy) on the RCWSA team, bringing his skills to serve the residents of our Rabun County community.
